Ian Henschke is an award-winning broadcaster and Chief Advocate for National Seniors Australia, raising the profile of older people.

Emerging from a background in teaching, Ian’s substantive journalism career includes roles at Channel 9, Channel 7 and ABC TV where he reported and produced for more than 25 years on programs including Four Corners, Landline and the 7.30 Report.

Ian was awarded the Centenary of Federation Medal for services to Australian society through broadcasting. In addition to his full time role as Chief Advocate for National Seniors, he continues to write a regular column for The Advertiser’s SA Weekend magazine
