Advance Care Planning Australia (ACPA) complies with all Commonwealth and State privacy laws, including the Privacy Act (1988) and Australian Privacy Principles, and is committed to protecting the privacy of personal information. This privacy statement explains how your personal information will be treated as you access and interact with our service, including the website, learning system and advisory service.

The website uses visitor logs to automatically record non-personal data for statistical purposes, and to update and improve this site. To the extent that any data could identify you, we will not attempt to do so unless required by law.

The website also uses “cookies” to remember options you have selected and displays those options again on your next visit. These cookies do not store any personal information and do not allow us to track your usage of the site.

Email or phone enquiries or applications you submit to our service may include personal or sensitive information. If personal or sensitive information about a third party is disclosed, people warrant that they have the authority to disclose that information to ACPA.  Information disclosed will be used for the purpose for which it was submitted. It will not be added to any mailing lists nor disclosed to any other party without your knowledge and consent, unless required by law. Information may also be collected and used for quality assurance, training, or research purposes, or to fulfil our non-identified reporting obligations to the Commonwealth of Australia.  Information collected may include name, age, occupation, contact details, State, reason for enquiry, decision making capacity, dementia related enquiry, culturally diversity, specific needs groups, level of care, or satisfaction with the Advance Care Planning Advisory Service.

ACPA has technology and security measures to protect information storage. Information is stored and disposed of in accordance with our obligations under Public Records Act 1973(Vic).
