Advance Care Planning Australia is proud to partner with Deaf Connect to ensure planning for future health care is accessible to the Deaf community, by launching a new advance care planning Auslan resource.

According to National Manager, Advance Care Planning Australia, Dr Catherine Joyce, the Deaf community faces a lack of Auslan accessibility when it comes to advance care planning.

“That’s why we’re delighted to endorse this practical Auslan video developed by Deaf Connect, that explains advance care planning – including how you decide what is important to you, and choosing a person who will represent your wishes,” she says.

“The launch of this resource marks a significant step forward by ensuring choices for future health care are accessible to this community.”

Deaf Connect is Australia’s largest whole-of-life service provider for Deaf, Deafblind and Hard of hearing Australians.
